Who Should Take This Course?

The Depot & Arsenal Executive Leadership Program (DAELP):

Is an executive development program serving the commanders and senior civilian leaders of our Nation’s industrial base and facilities.  The program is focused at the O-6 or civilian equivalent career level (O-5 by exception).  DAELP was established in 2003 by the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC).  It is organized and administered by the Institute for Defense and Business (IDB) and delivered in partnership with the faculty of the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and Kenan-Flagler Business School. 

Government participants:

Approximately 15-25 government participants are selected annually for DAELP.

Military: serving and selected Depot, Arsenal, and Ammunition Plant Commanders from all branches of the service.

Government Civilians: serving as Deputy Commanders, Chiefs of Staff, Directors and Deputy Directors within the government industrial base, Defense Logistics Agency and Inventory Control Points have also regularly attended the program. 

The U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) serves all branches of the military, DLA, and Coast Guard as the government executive agency for DAELP.  Government candidates please contact Ms. Sandra Gaston, LOGTECH Program Manager, at the AMC LOGTECH Program Management Office, (703) 806-8159 to apply.

Private Sector participants:

Approximately 3-4 private sector executives are selected annually for DAELP.  Senior Managers and Directors that work within the government and defense industrial base with involvement in manufacture, repair, and overhaul operations have participated.
