Dr. Brews is a serious student of the global economy. He focuses on how the "twin shocks" of globalization and the Internet are changing the ways that governments and companies conduct business and compete with each other.

He is currently pioneering research into  “Internet Generation” companies and has supervised and/or authored on a number of cases in strategy, corporate finance, and international and post-industrial business.  Dr. Brews is an award winning teacher and also an international consultant.

Dr. Gilland is a professor of operations, technology and innovation management. He is an award-winning teacher of operations management and such special topics as supply-chain management, response-time management and models used to guide operations decision making.

Professor Haynes is the former Vice-President of Global Supply Chain for Nortel Networks, Inc. and a graduate of the supply chain program at Cranfield University, UK. At Nortel, Mr. Haynes led the complete re-structuring of the logistics function for this internationa telecommunications firm.  He is the recipient of N.C. State’s College of Management “best instructor” award and a key LOGTECH faculty resource.

Dr. O’Neill teaches courses and programs in quality management, corporate  transformation and strategic management. He also has delivered executive programs for companies such as Wachovia Corporation, W.C. Bradley, Quintiles Transnational Corp., the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines Corps. Dr. O’Neill helps LOGTECH participants understand the complexities of organizational “change management” and leadership.

RBC Centura Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Sustainable Enterprise; Chair of Entrepreneurship

Dr. Segars is director of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC Kenan-Flagler. With expertise in the areas of innovation and technology management, he brings the perspective of strategic change and product commercialization to the challenges of aligning environmental, social and financial stakeholders. Dr. Segars has been a program manager at DARPA and has consulted with numerous corporations as well as many U.S. Government and DoD agencies.

Dr. Stanfield is a registered Professional Engineer and past recipient of the Department’s Industrial “Outstanding Contribution to Engineering Education” Award. He is the former President of ABCO Automation, an 80 employee manufacturing automation and improvement consulting firm located outside Greensboro, NC. Dr. Stanfield assisted in the development of the LOGTECH program and has been a LOGTECH research and teaching faculty member for five years.


Dr. David Clay WhybarkDr. David Clay Whybark

Dr. Whybark is a Macon G. Patton Distinguished Professor of operations, technology and innovation management. International manufacturing practices, planning and control systems, and strategy are among his areas of expertise.

His industrial experience was with the Boeing Company and Douglas Aircraft. He has served as a consultant to a number of corporate and governmental organizations in various parts of the world and was instrumental in the development of the LOGTECH program.
